In light of massive unemployment (and well before), nonprofits have been relying (now more and more) on "volunteers" to do the otherwise paid work of employees who have been laid off.
In light of massive unemployment (and well before), nonprofits have been relying (now more and more) on "volunteers" to do the otherwise paid work of employees who have been laid off. Altruism aside, volunteers still may only deduct the cost of expenses incurred doing "volunteer" work, but the value of their skilled (or not) labor is not allowed.

I have started a petition to Congress Income Tax Deduction for Volunteer Work (cc the President), to change the Tax Code to allow a deduction from a person's income tax for a volunteer's donated work itself (hours spent or otherwise evaluated as if paid). This would be especially valuable to folks who are making just enough funds to itemize deductions by reducing their income tax burden.

Income Tax Deduction for Volunteer Work is a bail-out free stimulus for the economy!

A personal experience: I volunteered to be the volunteer coordinator for a NPO. I found out that the task was previously part of the job of a paid (and now laid-off) employee. The job was not going to carry any financial compensation. I needed the deduction for my hours worked as much as they needed the work done, yet by law I can only deduct the cost of my transportation to/fro. (I'm not even going to discuss what it felt like to be a "scab", in union terms.)

There are other significant implications to this measure.

Like child-rearing, home-making and house-keeping, volunteer work itself, no matter how/not skilled, is not figured into the Gross Domestic Product of the USA. The government says it is because it is not paid and can't evaluate it. Yet, Independent Sector noted in 2010 the estimated value of an hour of donated volunteer time went up to $21.36 from $20.85 in 2009.

This is not to diminish the value of being compassionate, rather to highlight its impact on the common weal. Whether or not it's an "oversight" left-over from the bygone era when such altruism was usually performed by "non-working" mothers, it's time for a change.

Volunteer labor-fueled NPOs boast how much money they save by using unpaid labor. It will cost them not a penny more if volunteer labor were to be compensated in this way.

Support a bail-out-free economic stimulus. Please sign the petition Income Tax Deduction for Volunteer Work and encourage others as well. It is especially important in this election year.

Health Insurance – A better Way!

The politics of the healthcare debate has ignored the simple fact that there is a very simple and innovative free-market healthcare delivery plan that may be the answer to the current debate. It is a two-party (patient-provider) all inclusive system which removes the middleman and covers anyone who wants healthcare coverage. There are no co-pays, no exclusions, no billing by doctors and other providers, no claims and best of all, it is a free-market system that will not add one dollar to the national debt and may reduce present healthcare costs by over $1.2 trillion. It is not insurance.

It was developed by Dr. Leon Bleiberg of Newbury Park, CA and approved by the U. S. Department of Labor under the ERISA Law. It is currently sitting on the shelf because it has been suppressed by the Insurance lobby for more than 30 years. The plan is “shovel-ready” and may be implemented now with minimal or no cost to the Government. It is a free market system.

Who should be interested in this system? All the major players – if they really care – the government, Employer groups, Labor Unions, Insurance companies, doctors/providers and Investors. I think you too should take a look, and you will agree with everyone who has seen this plan and say that, it is the cure for our current sick and broken system. It is not insurance. The plan will cover all 307 million citizens of this country since it gives incentives to providers to service areas which may not currently be serviced including urban and hard to reach rural areas.

Please review the attached 2-page summary below.

A NEW APPROACH TO HEALTH CARE

A Healthcare System for the Nations

Health Share 2000-plus

Dr. Leon W. Bleiberg, of The Medical Trianon, has developed a healthcare delivery system over a long period of time. This program by Dr. Bleiberg, a retired Podiatric Surgeon, is shovel-ready for implementation now without a major expense to the government or the adopting entity. It is an outstanding solution to our current sick health insurance system. In particular, you will be impressed with the free market aspect of the program. It does not call for heavy government spending, or government interference in the lives of the people.

The program, which is approved by the U.S Department of Labor under the ERISA (Employee Income Security Act of 1974) Law, would:

(1) Give the member/patient 100 % healthcare coverage with no additional cost to him/her. The basic membership fee of the program takes care of all costs;

(2) Provide steady increased income to physicians and providers, and eliminates all paperwork related to billing; there is no billing, no claims, no deductibles, no accounts receivable and therefore no collections or bad debt. There are no exclusions of pre-existing condition or exclusions of any kind;

(3) Provides direct patient-doctor/provider relationship; there is no middleman;

(4) Cut employers cost by over 50% of current insurance premiums.

(5) Cost for a family of four is approximately $250 - 300/month in California or about $260 for national program for a family of four – for all medical services including lab work and hospitalization. Single or individual would be about 30% lower. All members pay the same and received same services – all medical services.

Best of all, It is Accessible, Cost Effective and Fiscally Sound. It promises a panacea for most interested parties – the public, the government and the medical profession/providers. It does not add to the federal deficit.

You, too, may agree that it could be the most innovative program ever developed in the field of healthcare.

NOBODY IS LEFT BEHIND!!

WHY HEALTHSHARE 2000-plus IS BETTER!

Though the system has some elements of similarity to the present system of Capitation it is not the same. Unlike the present system, HealthShare 2000-plus

A. Pays separate Retainers to each field of service detailed by the operational divisions within the provider network. This network is composed of all fields of service within the framework of the total benefit structure.

B. Providers are comprised of professional practitioners, hospitals, specialists, allied healthcare personnel, etc. This contractual system covers all benefits through the commitment of the provider network.

C. While the current system of indemnification is salary-based, and pays for services rendered, which is fraught with uncertainty, uncontrolled costs, abuse, fraud and waste it is not so with HealthShare 2000-plus, which is based on fees for services offered. There is a firm contractual assurance that all services and benefits that are to be rendered prophylactically and therapeutically are paid for by “retainer” before the member/consumer ever needs that service. There is no billing before or after service is rendered.

D. The system has no intermediary decision makers between the provider and the member. It is a direct doctor-patient relationship. The selection of treatment is discussed and made between patient and doctor.

E. The elimination of the intermediary means that over 80% of members’ fees/premiums are paid directly to doctors/providers at the beginning of each month.

E. The elimination of billing saves the provider more than 65% in paperwork and administration costs.

F. The substantial cost reduction, the built-in regulatory system, the free market-free choice feature, as well as the total streamlining results in a total win-win program for all sides – the employer, the employee, the government and the national economy.

G. It provides incentives for providers to practice in urban as well as hard to reach rural areas.

When one wants to learn any dance form then dance classes is what he/she opts for. Finding one of the best Dancing Classes in NYC is not very difficult. But, before finalizing any dance class, a person needs to be very clear about the dance form he/she wishes to pursue. Tango, salsa, Argentine tango, ballroom dance, Latin dance and swing dance are few styles that are famous in the dance field.

Once a person decides on the dance form, the next step is to locate the right dance school for this purpose. These classes and studios can be the source of a lot of information regarding these dance schools as they have their own websites up on the internet. Information can range from dance courses, types of lessons, dance instructors, timings, fees and workshops. Dance workshops are really a great way to showcase a dancer’s dancing talent and it also provides the right platform for it.

Dance schools divide students into four main categories – beginners, advanced beginners, intermediate and professional. The initial phase of learning i.e. beginners’ lessons is really necessary for a learner who is new to this dance field. Starting with the basic steps is crucial as it lays the base for future dance lessons, which can include complex dance movements. The higher stages of learning any dance require prior experience plus current dance practice.

These classes have three different types of lessons i.e. online, regular and private lessons. Online lessons are basically sessions that are given through the internet. The fees structure of all these lessons differ according to the number of sessions opted.

Our Senators Need Heart Wisdomtag:livingwellness.com,2009-07-14:2774974:Topic:31242009-07-14T06:37:19.000Zjennifer n.https://livingwellness.com/profile/jennifern
Tell your Senators that for our Supreme Court Judges, having heart is as important as the intellect, if not more valuable at times. The ability to 'Walk in another's shoes' is empathy with humanity itself and always serves both sides. Justice is only blind to superficial differences. Compassion is the 'law of laws' and the heart is the timepiece of the soul. Tell them Truth, Beauty, Justice and Love are not separate.
I think you've probably all heard of the way in which some people are interpreting quantum physics to mean that we're all free to create our own reality? Weirdly enough - that's not at all a viable conclusion from the standpoint of quantum physics. There are definite limits to the freedom of an electron for instance. So I do wonder whether quantum healing works - or rather - I think it probably works only within the POSSIBLE outcomes.

I do think that there is some reason for taking seriously the idea that consciousness manifested the universe to begin with though. The tangled web of observer observing itself and thereby manifesting itself has a strange ring of truth for me. However I do think it has to take into account the possibilities of that moment of manifestation.

What do you all think - is there a limitation to what quantum healing can accomplish? Event Listingstag:livingwellness.com,2009-02-24:2774974:Topic:4352009-02-24T03:22:57.000Zjennifer n.https://livingwellness.com/profile/jennifern
